HeadMaster Headphone System Description The HeadMaster system offers two different approaches to the problems of headphone monitoring in the recording studio, the broadcast environment, and on stage.
HeadLine and BeltPak Multi I/O modular system HeadLine The HeadLine is a power and audio distribution unit for up to 32 remote BeltPak headphone amplifiers. It will take up to eight input signals with standard routing similar to that used on the HeadLite system. There are four stereo outputs, each of which is capable of feeding up to eight BeltPaks. The user may specify the type of housing and connector configuration most suitable for their application. HeadLine has been supplied in housings ranging from rack mount cases with balanced inputs selected via rotary switches to a smallish box which has been sitting unnoticed in the back of a rack. The final configuration of any HeadLine/BeltPak system is a result of a clear definition of the users requirements, reached through detailed discussion. The system has been designed in a modular and flexible way, so customisation is standard, and not a costly extra. BeltPak BeltPak is a satellite headphone amplifier for use in conjunction with HeadLine. It is capable of driving two pairs of headphones. The BeltPak is housed in a cream ABS textured finish box measuring around 100mm x 60mm x 25mm, with a belt clip, two jack sockets and a volume control. Power and audio connection is via a 9 pin D connector. By using high value audio input decoupling capacitors (2 x 220m F back to back) low frequency response is extremely good, even over long cable runs, with response flat down to 10Hz. The power rails are also decoupled with high value capacitors (4700m F) which ensures a minimum of crosstalk even at high frequencies for long cable runs. Specifications for HeadLite & BeltPak (20Hz to 20kHz)
