Gateshead based audio manufacturing company DACS have won a prestigious international award; the Electronic Musician magazine Editor’s Choice award for Analogue Effects Processors. Electronic Musician is the United States’ leading magazine for the modern recording musician, and is read by all those interested in electronic music production and recording.
The Editor’s Choice award is made in various categories, and the best new products are awarded the prize in each one. “When it comes to mangling your music in delightful ways, the DACS FREQue II takes the prize” was how the award certificate began. DACS’ FREQue II (pronounced FREAK), one of the FwS series, fought off competition from giants in the audio industry from around the world.
Dr Douglas Doherty, Managing Director of DACS said, “We are very pleased and proud to have won the Electronic Musician Editor’s Choice award. A combination of the highest audio performance and unique functionality was what made the FREQue II stand out from the crowd. Our blend of unfettered, some might even say wild, imagination and world-class British engineering is why musicians, producers, sound designers and recording engineers use our products the world over. This award helps to establish DACS’ position at the forefront of this arena.”
DACS next product in the FwS series is a vocoder (as used in Sparky and his talking piano and ELO’s Mr Blue Sky) with a number of unique additional features. These, coupled with DACS usual superb audio quality, should make this another outstanding processing tool for professional and semi professional musicians alike.
