DACS launch the new PPA Phantom Power Adapter

DACS are pleased to announce the launch of the PPA Phantom Power Adapter, specifically designed for use with the Soundman OKM II Binaural microphones. It acts as an interface between the microphones and Phantom Power devices, such as microphone preamplifiers and mixers.

Similar in concept to the A3 Adapter (available with the OKMs), the PPA converts 48V Phantom Power into the optimum 7.5V bias voltage, with no need for a battery. This voltage results in a significant signal to noise improvement (around 10dB when compared to the A3 Adapter), and gives more headroom for the user’s recordings. Input to the PPA is via a stereo mini jack, and output is via two gold plated XLRs, with the signal isolated from the Phantom Power by two audio transformers.

The DACS PPA is the essential interfacing solution for users wanting to make high quality studio recordings using the OKM II microphones (or other suitable stereo electret condenser microphones) in conjunction with Phantom Power devices. The PPA retails at £103.78 including VAT.
