Introduction

Audio, digital audio, MIDI and control data cables manufactured by DACS conform to a specification outlined below. As a result of many years experience, this specification has been developed to ensure that all cables supplied by DACS will have a long, reliable life, will not be prone to failure through flexing, and will perform the task required to a high technical level. This does mean that DACS cable assemblies may be more expensive than those offered by other manufacturers, but we know that the serious semi-professional and professional user appreciates the value of long term reliability, ease of installation, clear conductor and connector identification and above all the renowned DACS service; clear technical advice before purchase, prompt delivery, and unsurpassed after sales support.

Connectors

The choice of connector is made by the customer. For demanding applications we recommend Neutrik or Deltron metal bodied connectors. For less demanding applications we recommend lower cost plastic bodied connectors.

Panels and enclosures

The choice of panel and enclosure is again made by the customer. With our in house fabrication facilities we can manufacture custom panels and enclosures to a suitable price/performance specification. Connectors and cable support hardware are fixed to panels either with nuts, shake-proof washers and bolts, or via through hole fixings (as in standard jack sockets). Panels and enclosures always have the required fixing holes for mounting, either as standard, in the case of rack mount items, or custom as agreed between DACS and the customer. Engraving is also available, with drawings submitted for customer approval for both connector layout and engraving.

Cables

DACS uses only recognised industry standard cables of acceptable specification for the job for which the assembly is required. This selection would be based on factors such as the signal type, length of cable and application.
